Nasca
The lines of Nasca, which are situated app. 50 kms northeast of Nasca, were made of a not well known culture. The Lines are totally symmetrical and till
now, it is not that much known how a culture could build lines totally symmetrical, even if they hadn’t a view from above.
Erich von Daeniken had also different explanations of the meaning of the lines; he thought that the lines were made from and for aliens.
The only person who really explored and tried to explain the meaning of the lines was the German women Maria Reiche.
The lines are that big, that you couldn’t see the whole “picture” from the ground, so nearly all travel agencies offer flights above the lines.
Of course I couldn’t miss that chance and booked a flight.
Fortunately, I didn’t have breakfast and sat, together with other tourists, at 8.00 am in the hangar of the
airline. Around 9.00 am I asked a pilot to fly, because at around 10.00 am the sun should have been too high to get good pictures of the lines.
Quickly, I was brought to the plane, a little 4 seated Cessna.
We cramped ourselves in the plane, got the clearing from the tower and lifted off. The birds eyes view of
the lines was definitely worth the 45 US$ and the pilot flew always two times over the symbols, so you could see them from both angles. We saw the main symbols “the spacemen”, “the spider” and other
symbols in the dry desert sand.
The symbols were amazing to see! They had sometimes “wingspans” over hundreds of meters, but were totally symmetrically!
Unfortunately, my stomach didn’t like the flight, and on the way back to the airport, I was busy filling a little plastic bag with green liquid.
Fortunately I didn’t have breakfast, or I would have been sorry about the money, which I spent!
I stayed another day in Nasca, to let my stomach relax and headed off the following day.
